Joe & Catie Have It Going On

Howdy folks!

I’ve been doing some serious thinking this week regarding wedding photographers in Las Vegas and what makes a photographer special or stand out in the midst of a sea of other photographers (since I’m a photographer in Las Vegas, I think about this kinda stuff!).  As we all know, Las Vegas is the wedding capitol and as such you’d expect to have an over abundance of wedding vendors.  So what makes a photographer stand out with all the photography in Las Vegas?  I don’t think  its just about the quality of the photography anymore.  If you’re thinking of getting married in Las Vegas, something to think about might be the fact that you may be having a destination wedding where everything is foreign and new and your nerves may be on end about all the planning.  Something so so important is that you get to know your vendors so that you’re comfortable with them.

Here’s a fact:  on your wedding day, of all the people around you, you’ll be spending the most time with your wedding photographer.  Its super important that you feel comfortable around this person because they’re going to be a BIG part of your day.  (Check out this article on the 3 Mistakes to Avoid When Hiring a Wedding Photographer)Whats a great way to get to know a photographer?  Have an engagement session with them.  Having your engagement pictures taken gives you and the photographer a great way to get to know each other and find out if you’re comfortable with one another.  It allows you to get a feel for how the photographer works so that on your wedding day its a much easier transition.  I ALWAYS recommend booking an engagement session within your wedding photography package with this as my top priority.  I want to make sure you’re going to feel comfortable with me!  Oh, and lets not forget that you’re going to get some great engagement pictures as well.  😉

And with that, I’m going to segue into this week’s post!  It was my honor to shoot for a couple of the nicest people I’ve ever met.  Joe and I go back about a year, and in that year he’s taught me so much about the world, how to view the world differently, and how to view serious topics like religion and politics from someone else’s eyes.  He’s seriously such a smart guy!  In the year that I’ve known him, almost in EVERY long conversation we’d have he would bring up Catie.  I totally believe in soul mates, and in love at first sight and all that other good jazz that make up the brighter side of life and if theres one thing I can say definitely about Joe, its that he loves, and I mean LOVES Catie.

Girls, I highly recommend catching a guy who is gonna gush about you as much as Joe gushes on Catie.

I met Catie for the first time this week and I must say, what a lovely girl.  So artistic and smart just like Joe.  They’re totally right for each other.  And something that I love about them is, they bring out the best in one another.  (and to be fair, I know Joe better, so I can say with certainty that Catie brings out the best in him, as I’m sure he does for her).  So this engagement photoshoot was done with their love in mind.  I feel that they’re both such down to earth people, I wanted this session to reflect that.  Hopefully it will give some of you some great engagement photo ideas, and help you when deciding between engagement photographers, engagement photography prices, etc.  (Contact my here for any pricing questions you may have!) Here’s to love!
